Jaguar 2001 XJS

Until the advent of the XJS. Despite the late arrival of said vehicle at my door, by some 6 hours, any thoughts of remonstrating with the (very nice) man who dropped off the car, were immediately forgotten upon spying this sleek, metallic blue, sex-on-wheels car. The entire design of the car reminded me of a wind-tunnel test and I half expected to see little, aerodynamic arrows shooting over the car to reinforce the predatory nature of the design.
With a supercharged AJ-V8 engine pushing it from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, the XJR offers performance rarely equaled by advanced sport cars, let alone a luxury sedan. Keeping this power under control are speed-sensitive, computer-controlled steering, uniquely calibrated suspension, traction control and an anti-lock braking system.
In 1997 a supercharged version of the AJ-V8 engine was introduced in the XJS sedan. Featuring an air-to-liquid intercooler, the 370-horsepower engine takes the XJS from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The supercharged AJ-V8 also powers the XKR and the Vanden Plas Supercharged.
